Pure Linen Dyed – 150 gsm, 136cm – Plain Weave

100% linen, 150 gsm, 136 cm wide, 14 x 14 plain weave, supplied pre-shrunk and piece-dyed on 100 m rolls. This is the light-to-mid weight of our pure linen plain range, one step under the 185 gsm and well above the 106 gsm print base.

It is the weight most buyers pick for shirting, blouses, summer dresses, loose trousers and lightweight jackets, and it works equally well for napkins, runners and cushion covers where you want a dry, crisp finish rather than a brushed one.

Because the cloth is piece-dyed after weaving, color sits evenly across the width and the weave stays flat, so prints and embroidery register cleanly on it. The hand is dry and a little crisp at first and softens with washing. Expect the usual linen crease; the cloth is pre-shrunk, so garments hold their size through the first wash cycle.

Dew-retted flax can be woven at this same 150 gsm and width if you specifically want that fibre story on the label – ask when you enquire. For a heavier plain weave, see the 185 gsm natural version; for a very light print base, the 106 gsm printed linen runs at 21 x 21.
