A 100% linen plain weave at 185 gsm, 136 cm wide, woven 14 x 14 and supplied pre-shrunk on 100 m rolls. This sits in the middle of our pure linen range: heavier than the 106-155 gsm shirtings, lighter than the 230 gsm dobby and the 285 gsm slub. The same 14 x 14 construction is also available at 180 gsm if you need a slightly lighter lot.
Buyers use it for dresses, wide-leg trousers, unstructured jackets and light outerwear. It also turns up in cushions, tote bags and table linen where a firmer hand is wanted. At 136 cm you can lay two garment panels side by side without much waste, which is why it is a common choice for small-batch cutters.
The plain weave keeps the surface flat and even, so piece-dyeing and printing both come out clean. Linen carries its full texture here: visible slubs, a dry touch, quick moisture release. Expect the characteristic crease. If your line needs a softer, more fluid drape, look at the 130 gsm air-washed version; if you want the crease reduced, our 55/45 linen-cotton at 140 gsm is the closer fit.
Against our 180 gsm twill this is the plain-weave option at almost the same weight. Choose twill for a diagonal surface and a denser cover, plain weave for print clarity and an even dye ground.
