A 100% linen at 130 gsm and 136 cm wide, given an air-wash finish so the cloth arrives soft rather than crisp. Pre-shrunk and rolled at 100 m. A lighter 120 gsm version is woven on 133 cm if you want an even airier hand.
The air wash is what buyers come for on this one: bedding, duvet covers, shams, curtains, table linen, and the softer end of womenswear – relaxed shirts, wide trousers, summer dresses. It behaves more like a washed cotton than a stiff linen, so it is easier to sell into retail where the customer expects something that feels broken-in on day one.
The finish relaxes the yarn before it reaches you, so the surface is slightly cloudy and the drape is fluid. Slubs are still visible but less pronounced than on a raw-finish plain weave. It still creases, though more softly, and it still breathes – which is the whole point of linen for bedding.
If you need a crisper, more structured cloth for tailoring, take the 185 gsm natural plain weave instead. If you want a light print ground rather than a washed solid, the 106 gsm printed linen is the closer base.
